we had one hell of a time in minot last night!

the night included a whopping ten poets (two more than a regulation slam, but who cares?), email swapping, banjo music, a trombone battle, and they baked us a cake, to top it all off! they even paid for our gas to get home! what a bunch of nice people!

okay, enough with the exclamation points, on with business.

minot was pretty excited to have a poetry slam, and we found out that there’s some pretty insane talent up there. we’re trying to bring the champ from last night, joe davis, down to the capitol city for some slams and performances by his poetry duo, True Soul Brothaz.

i traded one of my books for one of their albums. i haven’t listened just yet, but i’m damn excited.

anyway, they set the date for their next slam. it’ll be may 8th at 7pm, so don’t forget!

we’d love for you guys to head up and participate or watch. maybe they’ll make you cake, too. (it was pretty damn good cake. seriously.)
